MedRIST training programs are developed and delivered in day-long sessions throughout the year, and at multiple sites in Toronto. The highly specialized content of these programs is tailored to benefit very specific audiences, and is delivered by highly knowledgeable UHN staff that already uses the skills they teach in their everyday duties.

Current training programs include:

  • Wet Laboratory Research Safety Training: 

    This specialized training workshop is designed to ensure that staff operating within a “wet laboratory” setting is able to operate within high safety parameters, and able to manage accidents safely.

  • Quality Clinical Investigator Practices Training Program (The QCIP© Program): 

    The QCIP© Program consists of in-class training primarily targeted to new Principal Investigators, Clinical Research Fellows, and Clinical Fellows who conduct research involving humans. QCIP builds on the experiences of our learners through a case-based approach. The QCIP Program is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by AMMI Canada.

The Wet Laboratory Research Safety Training course is aimed at research personnel who will be working in a wet laboratory in which hazardous materials such as chemical and/or biological hazards are used.
